ColoRythm

How to play ColoRythm

Find the rhythm. Give it color.

Notes fall down lanes. Press each lane’s key as a note reaches the hit line: accurate timing earns points and throws paint onto the canvas. This guide helps you set up your first game.

Start with the 4-key mode

Select a catalog song or load your own MP3. Choose 4 lanes and easy difficulty. The default layout, from left to right, is:

To change a key in settings, select it and press the key you want to assign. On touch devices, you can tap the lanes.

An accurate hit earns a perfect; a less accurate hit may earn a good. If you miss the timing window, you get a miss. At first, focus on recognizing the lanes and listening to the song’s pulse.

Lane count and difficulty are different settings

ColoRythm offers 4 to 10 lanes and four difficulties: easy, medium, hard and extreme. Lane count changes how notes are spread across the keyboard; difficulty changes how demanding the generated chart is. Extreme mode is intended for experienced players.

Note speed changes how notes move across the screen. It does not change the music playback speed. Make small adjustments until you can read the notes without them bunching up or arriving too quickly.

An imported chart uses its own difficulty and lane count. To change its notes, open the chart editor.

Make the notes easier to read

Settings let you switch hit animations between Splash, Chromatic pulse and Simple. Try Simple if the effects distract you.

Track opacity controls how much painting shows through the lane background. A more opaque track helps separate the notes from the canvas. Performance mode provides an almost opaque background to help you focus.

If the audio feels out of sync

Open settings → audio → calibration. Adjust the offset gradually and replay a familiar passage. Keep the same headphones or speakers while calibrating so you can compare. Changing audio devices may change the delay.

Questions about your first game

Do I have to load an image?

No. You can leave the canvas blank or choose an image for your hits to rebuild with paint. It is a creative option, not a requirement.

Can two people play together?

Yes, there are two-player modes on the same device. Availability depends on the lane layout; 9K is single-player only. Check both players’ keys before starting.

What can I do with the painting afterward?

You can open the artwork editor, add color, sign it and export it. The final image downloads to your device.

Do I need previous rhythm-game experience?

No. Start with easy and 4 keys. Replay a familiar song and increase the difficulty once its patterns feel comfortable.
